MANHUNT OVER: Shooting suspect captured

The primary suspect in a Stinking Creek shooting over two weeks ago is now behind bars.
Following a manhunt lasting more than two weeks, the primary suspect in a shooting at Stinking Creek is now behind bars.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Daniel Dale Edwards, 42 of Hinkle, was arrested at approximately 12 p.m. on Friday, May 23 in the Turkey Creek area of Knox County. A call reporting sightings of Edwards came in about 8 a.m. on Friday. 
Edwards was wanted for the alleged shooting and robbery of a man on Ky. 718 in Walker on May 8. The search on Friday lasted approximately four hours before Edwards was apprehended. 
He was charged with Robbery First Degree, Attempted Murder, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Fleeing or Evading Police First Degree/Motor Vehicle and Fleeing or Evading Police First Degree/on Foot.
Edwards was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Assisting the Knox County Sheriff's Office were KSP Post 10, KSP Special Response Team, Barbourville City Police Department, U. S. Marshal’s Service, Kentucky National Guard Counter Drug Reconnaissance Team, Knox County Dispatch and Knox EMS.
