Obituary - Verdlain Frazier

Mrs. Verdlain Frazier, 73, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday morning, June 29, 2025 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Brandy and Ivory Collins Gray born September 8, 1951 in Oneida.
Verdlain was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of the Parkway Baptist Church. She was known for her beautiful, spirit-filled singing voice. As a minister’s wife, she spent her life serving the Lord alongside her husband with grace and dedication. She deeply cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Verdlain will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
On September 19, 1969, she united in marriage with Thomas Frazier and to this union three children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer, Bill and Oscar Gray; sisters, Helen Willis, Mary Gooch, Elsie May Matthews and an infant sister, Nancy Gray and mother-in-law, Florence Frazier.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Rev. Thomas Frazier of Barbourville; children, Karen Mills and husband, Allen, of Gray, Carolyn Bright of Barbourville and Tommy Frazier and wife, Tabitha, of Barbourville; sisters, Sally Lee and Hazel Smith both of Manchester; brothers, Larry Gray and wife, Linda, Alonso Gray and wife, Delta, and James Gray and wife, Linda, all of Berea; cherished grandchildren, Logan Mills and girlfriend, Brianna, Taylor Hill and husband, Seth, Jacob Bright, Adam Mills, Emily Smith and husband, Chris, and Gavin and Gabby Frazier; great-grandchildren, Hadley Mills, Brody and Bailee Smith and Bo and Bentli Hill; sister-in-law, Margie Frazier of Richmond; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, July 3 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Mark Gibbs and Rev. Jerry Vaughn officiating. Rev. David Rice will be an honorary minister and pastor. She will be laid to rest in the Frazier Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Logan Mills, Adam Mills, Jacob Bright, Gavin Frazier, Chris Smith and Lloyd Baker. Honorary bearers are Allen Mills, Brody and Bailee Smith, Emily Smith, Gabby Frazier, Taylor Hill, Hadley Mills, Phyllis Jackson, members of the Parkway Baptist Church and the staff of Bluegrass Care Navigators.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
