Three indicted for alleged theft, exploitation

A Knox County grand jury indicted three Knox County women for their involvement in an alleged crime ring.

The indicted, Hazel T. Mills of Barbourville, Pamela Harmon of Flat Lick, and Hazel L. Lewis of Flat Lick, were each indicted on two counts relating to criminal activity alleged to have occurred from August 2023 through October 2023.

The first count, Theft by Unlawful Taking of the Value of $10,000 or More but less than $1,000,000, results from the trio allegedly taking money and a car, valued at more than $10,000.

The second count, Wanton Exploitation of an Adult $300 or more was handed down against all three for allegedly “knowingly exploiting an adult... resulting in a total loss” to the victim in the amount of $300 or more.

Mills, Harmon, and Lewis are all scheduled to appear in Knox Circuit Court at 9:30 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024.
