This coming Sunday will be our monthly PRAYER ON THE SQUARE! At 7pm, November 1st, we’ll gather at the Knox County Courthouse to seek the Lord’s blessing upon our Community. Teresa Davenport will be our featured guest. She is a singer, song writer, musician (piano, accordion, juice-harp maybe), and encourager. She will encourage us in song, testimony and join us in our prayer time. Teresa is a lover of Jesus and may sing her latest patriotic song, “These Colors Don’t Run!” Remember to tell others about our meeting and come praying!
Praying is what ought to distinguish God’s people. This season ought to stretch our praying muscles. As a pastor I feel burdened to speak out about the dark evil that we display this season of the year. For the next two months we begin to decorate and promote some of the most beautiful themes of life and our values. But now we display to our children things that we desperately need to educate them away from. This is the most joyous season for those who worship and dabble in Satanism. It’s the period of the year for the highest trafficking of children (monitor your children and their candy—a given). James 3:11 ask a very simple question, “Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?” Before long we are going to see displayed on the news how our most respected in society have practiced all this evil. We will be shocked and bewildered as to how this could happen in our society. Be wise, let everything you do, even the small things, encourage children toward the beautiful things God has blessed us with and soberly turn them to fresh water.
