Mrs. Zella Colene Fisher, age 97 of Heidrick, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, September 27, 2026 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was the widow of Marvin Fisher and the daughter of Jim and Maggie Disney born to them on July 21, 1929.
Colene was a strong independent woman who dedicated her life to taking care of others. She also took care of herself to the very end. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing and boating, trips to the ocean and family trips with all the grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Fisher, her parents, Jim and Maggie Disney, one son, Gary Fisher, a grandson, Patrick Fisher, four brothers, Laymon Disney, Eugene Disney, Elwood Disney and Arnold Disney and two sisters, Helen Buckner and Opal Mills.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Alan Fisher and wife Barbara of Heidrick, Kentucky, and granddaughter, Anita Fisher of Orlando, Florida. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fisher will be conducted in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Duke Hammons officiating. She will be laid to rest int the Fisher Cemetery beside her husband. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00.
