Mr. James Collins, age 67 of Flat Lick, KY was born in Pineville, KY on June 9, 1959 to the late Ben and Ella Mills Collins and departed this life on September 26, 2026 in the UK Hospital in Lexington,
In addition to his parents: Ben and Ella Collins; a brother: Ernest Hubert Collins, Sr.; and a sister: Mary Jane Scalf preceded him in death.
James is survived by his loving wife: Ruby Collins; a daughter: Cristy Atkins and husband Bradford; 2 sons: James Collins, Jr. and Kristina Smith, and John Collins and wife Tasha; 2 sisters: Rhonda Collins, and Kathy Johnson and husband Johnny; 8 grandchildren: Selina Fernandez, Christian Fernandez, Chloe Helton, Ben Collins, Everlee Collins, Cora Collins, Jayden Fernandez, Bryanna Smith; 3 great grandchildren: Tacion “Boog” Fernandez, Harley Fernandez, and Journey Fernandez; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. James Collins will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel from 10 am to the funeral hour at 1.
