Mr. Clarence Valentine, age 83 of Artemus was born in Clay County, KY on November 13, 1942 to the late Gorman and Cecil Jackson Valentine and departed this life on May 16, 2026 in the Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pineville.
In addition to his parents, his wife: Lucy Smith Valentine; and 3 brothers: Billy Don Valentine and wife Lee, Eugene Valentine, and Alton Junior Valentine preceded him in death.
Clarence is survived by his loving daughters: Jennifer Valentine and husband Lonnie, and Lisa Gray and husband James; 4 grandchildren: Timothy Cain and wife Rebekah, Travis Cain, Tyler Gray and wife Santana, and Tara Thacker and husband Thomas; 10 great grandchildren: Kylie Cain, Luke Cain, Thomas James Thacker, Tatum Henry Thacker, Diesel Gray, Dakota Daniels, Campbell Cain, Croley Cain, Hamptyn Cain, and Rylix Cain; 3 brothers: Leroy Valentine and wife Rhonda, Ralph Valentine, and Ernie Valentine and wife Kathy; 7 sisters: Nannie Mae Smith and husband Herbie, Marylin Bright and husband John Ike, Beulah Campbell and husband Earl, Barbara Everly and husband Todd, Teresa Valentine, Dianne Wagers and husband Wayne, and Brenda Kay Valentine; a special Nephew: Jason Valentine; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Clarence Valentine will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mann Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Patterson Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2.
