Mr. Bill Jones, 91, of Green Road, passed away Saturday evening September 26, 2026 at the Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 17, 1935 at Callebs Creek, the son of the late Chester and Ethel Messer Jones.
Bill was a former custodian for the Knox County Vocational School and a member of the New Girdler Holiness Church. He enjoyed attending church and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Bill also loved watching game shows like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He was often out of doors watching the deer or simply waving at cars as they drove by.
On October 11, 1958, he united in marriage with Margaret Johnson, who preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ariel “Teah” Hudson; grandson, Jason Alexander Farthing; great grandson, Weston Medlin; sisters, Hattie Rowland and Belle Barker; brothers, Ralph Jones, McKinley Jones, Denver Jones and wife, Jean, Terrell Jones and wife, Lorene, Ted Jones and Robert Jones; sons-in-law, Mark Medlin and David Hudson and brother-in-law, Mike Hubbard.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Debbie Medlin and Sharon Hudson both of Green Road; a sister, Phyllis Hubbard of Bimble; treasured grandchildren, Travis Hudson and wife, Rebekah, Cassaidy Hendrickson and husband, Phillip, and Anthony Medlin and wife, Kelli; great grandchildren, Savannah Johnson and husband, James, Jayden and Storianna Hendrickson, Westley Medlin, Isaac Campbell and Elijah and Aaron Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Irene Jones, Raylene Jones and Louise Jones; brother-in-law, Ken Barker; family friends, Debbie Howard and Priscilla Bright and family; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, September 30 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Joey Woolum and Larry Craig officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Johnson Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Anthony Medlin, Travis Hudson, Phillip Hendrickson, Joe Woolum, Dawson Medlin and Johnny Lee Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Larry and Flo Craig and the staff of Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
