Posted

Due to extreme inclement weather conditions, the Knox County Courthouse, including all offices within it, will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026 per executive order by Judge-Executive Mike Mitchell.

The courthouse will remain open as a warming center.

The order reads, “WHEREAS: Due to the severity of the occurring winter storm event and for the protection of public safety, the Knox County Courthouse will be closed. Now, therefore, I, Mike Mitchell, Judge Executive of Knox County, Kentucky, do hereby declare the Court House and all Offices be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.”

Officials encourage people to limit travel to necessity and emergencies only due to treacherous road conditions due to continued precipitation and temperatures.
