Governor Andy Beshear announced more than $922,000 to help Kentucky communities guard against wildfires. The funding comes from the USDA Forest Service as part of the Community Wildfire Defense Grant (CWDG) Program. Each community receiving funding will create a Wildfire Protection Plan to reduce the risk of wildfires. Representatives from Knox, Lewis and Powel counties, and from the Gateway Area Development District were present.
