Graggs, Butler Lead Knox County Past Pineville/Bell In 12U Elimination Game

TRI-CITY — Knox County kept its tournament hopes alive Sunday, knocking off Pineville/Bell 8-3 in loser’s bracket second-round action of the 12U Baseball All-Star Tournament at Tri-City Little League.

After falling behind 3-1 in the opening inning, Knox County answered with single runs in the first three innings before breaking the game open with a five-run fifth inning.

Gunner Graggs powered the offense, going 2-for-2 with a double, triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Hudson Butler also delivered two hits and drove in two runs, while Tucker Greene added a double and two RBI. Carter Smith finished with two hits, and Case Thompson and Zayden Cunningham each added hits.

Jacob Mills reached base three times with three walks and scored twice while Tripp Taylor scored a run.

Tucker Greene earned the win on the mound, working 5.2 innings while allowing three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Graggs recorded the final out with a strikeout.

The Knox County 12U All-Star squad is coached by Travis Mills. Players selected to the team are Evan Barrett, Gunner Carnes, Zayden Cunningham, Case Thompson, Tucker Greene, Carter Smith, Tripp Taylor, Bryson Asher, Hudson Butler, Gunner Graggs, John Miles and Jacob Mills.
