Obituary - Yuleva Coffey

Mrs. Yuleva Coffey, 91, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, July 9, 2025 at the TerraBella of Morristown. She was the daughter of the late Corbin and Eva Robbins Payne born August 11, 1933 in Big Stone Gap, VA.

Yuleva was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Davis Chapel Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her church life. She could often be found talking and visiting with her neighbors.

On January 6, 1952, she united in marriage with Charles Coffey and to this union two children were born.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Farris; brother, Jervis Payne; granddaughter, Amy Baker and son-in-law, David Evans.

Survivors include her loving children, Charlene Evans of Barbourville and Chuck Coffey and wife, Pam, of Cumberland Gap, TN; sister, Lucy Collinsworth of Barbourville; brother, John Payne of Louisville; special double first cousin, Robert Payne; cherished grandchildren, Charlotte Baker Parish, Cristian Coffey, Tristan Evans, Levi Coffey, Brie Kerr and Jordan Evans and wife, Kayla; great-granddaughter, Skye Baker Bass; great-great-grandchildren, Lincoln Bass and Ellie Gray Evans; special friends, Sherry Moore, Gerry Scalf, Shirley Martin, Sally Lundy and Ruby Ramey; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, July 14 at 12 Noon with Rev. Dale Phipps officiating. Rev. Dustin Reed will be an honorary minister. She will be laid to rest in the Davis Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Cristian Coffey, Tristan Evans, Jordan Evans, Levi Coffey, Jim Parish, Jesse Bass, Skye Bass and Charlotte Parish. Honorary bearers are Kenney Vaughn, Gary Farris, Michael John Payne, Eric Canady, Tommy Scalf, Billy Howard, Chuck Vanover, Mark Rose, Norman Miller and Tim Phipps.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday after 10 A.M. until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Davis Chapel Baptist Church, 375 Hooker Branch Road, Barbourville, KY 40906, in her memory.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of TerraBella of Morristown and Caris Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Mrs. Coffey.
