Obituary - Betty Jane Jones

Mrs. Betty Jane Jones, 82, of Gray, passed away Friday morning, June 20, 2025 at her home. She was born July 27, 1942 in Barbourville, the daughter of the late James Thomas and Sarah Gray Owens.
Betty was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Keck Baptist Church, where she loved attending. She served in the Woman’s Missionary Union and was a member of the Eastern Star. Betty enjoyed crafting, painting and sewing. She also had a love for being out of doors, where she found joy in fishing and spending time at the lake. Betty most treasured caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On March 2, 1963, she united in marriage with Ronnie Jones in Jellico, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Keys; brothers, J. L., Lewis, Larry, Ray and James Owens; a son-in-law, Eddie Nash; a great granddaughter, Stella Jane Crawford and parents-in-law, Craig and Ethel Jones.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 62 years, Ronnie Jones of Gray; beloved children, Cynthia Nash of Richmond, Jeffrey Jones and wife, Bobbi, of Gray and Jennifer Bruner and husband, Bebo, of Fisherville; a sister, Beverly Sue Marler of Gray; brothers, Don Owens and Alvin Owens and wife, Maggie, all of Gray; cherished grandchildren, Roxanne Doane and Seth Gyr, Brigetta Crawford and husband, Bryan, Richard Doane, Alyson Monaco and husband, Trey, Alayna Jones and Hunter McRight, Marcus Davis and wife, Whitney, Macy Bruner, Luke Davis and Makenna Kemper, Alyvia Jones and Dakota Tye and Emma Bruner; great grandchildren, Cameron Nantz, Drakken Doane, Anderson Crawford, Rayden Monaco, Abel Nantz, Harland Crawford, Vally McRight, Drew Davis and Brooks Monaco; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, June 26 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Darrell Warren and Rev. Mike Helton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Anderson Campbell Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Trey Monaco, Hunter McRight, Marcus Davis, Luke Davis, Bryan Crawford, Seth Gyr, Richard Doane and Cameron Nantz. Honorary bearers will be the deacons at Keck Baptist Church and her church family.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Bluegrass Hospice, especially Brittany Collett, Karen Helton, Kathy Smith, Melinda Moses and Shonda Flannery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
