Obituary - Jewell Dean Ramsey

Mrs. Jewell Dean Ramsey, 81, of Artemus, passed away Friday evening, June 6, 2025 at the UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. She was born August 18, 1943 in Knox County, the daughter of the late Blanch Lickliter Jackson.
Dean, as she was lovingly known, was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Artemus. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Smokey Mountains, going on cruises, collecting cookbooks and Vaseline glass. She was an incredible wife, mother and friend.
On August 15, 1964, she united in marriage with Keith A. Ramsey at Artemus.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lilly Hembree and a son, Darrell Shelton.
Survivors include the love of her life and husband of over 60 years, Keith Ramsey; her beloved daughter and best friend, Deana Ramsey; a friend of almost 80 years, Freeda Ann Miles; a cherished friend, who was like family, Margaret Hubbard; sisters, Evelyn Hammonds, Charlene Moore and Sue Jackson; brother-in-law, Kenneth Ramsey; sister-in-law, Lou Ann McElvain; dear cousin, Bryon Ramsey; special niece, Jill Littrell; a grandson, Justin Shelton; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones, neighbors and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Barbourville Cemetery Tuesday, June 10 at 4:30 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Partin officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 4 P.M. to travel in procession to the cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Bryon Ramsey, Jeff Ramsey, Kelly Ramsey, Kenneth Littrell, Stan Lawson and Jim Miles. Honorary bearers will be Scott Ramsey and Dennis Hubbard.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
