Send-Off for A Hero
A funeral procession for Brandon Lee Saunders took place on Monday following services at Knox Funeral Home earlier in the afternoon.
Saunders, who passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 23, served with both the East Knox Volunteer Fire Department and Artemus Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
A ladder fire engine with the Barbourville Fire Department draped an American flag over Cumberland Avenue as the procession, which included fire trucks driven by fellow firefighters, passed under on the way to Barbourville City Cemetery where he was interred.
Saunders leaves behind his wife, Tonya Saunders of Barbourville, parents, Eness Collins of Barbourville and Betty Jones and husband Jimmy of Heidrick and a host of family and friends.
