Obituary - Larry "Pete" Bargo

Mr. Larry “Pete” Bargo, 71, of Callebs Creek, passed away Friday evening, February 28, 2025 at his home. He was the son of the late Abe Bargo Jr. and Verna Mae Grubb Bargo born on September 9, 1953 in Knox County.
Pete was a former logger and a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. He was a true outdoorsman, who enjoyed being on the farm, riding horses and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eller and Owen Grubb and Abe Bargo Sr. and Dora Bargo; sister, Paula Harrell and her husband, Michael Harrell; brother-in-law, John Partin and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors include his aunt, Bonnie Jones and husband, Earl, of Hinkle; loving siblings, Brenda Jackson, of Corbin, Linda Partin of Scott Hollow, Patricia Swafford and husband, Kelly, of Bull Creek, Malette Jordan and husband, Patrick, of Barbourville, Gary Bargo and wife, Vernie, of Barbourville and Ronald Bargo of Hinkle; many nieces, nephews and dear cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Knox Funeral Home Friday, March 7 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Dewayne Smith and Rev. Ricky Broughton officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Abe Bargo Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be his nephews and dear friend, Doug Callebs. Honorary bearers will be his church family.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
