Two sent to hospital following train vs. vehicle crash
At 5:52 pm Knox 911 received a call of a vehicle vs. train accident at the crossing near Highway 225 and Factory Road in the Artemus community.
Once on scene Deputy Mike Taylor found that a 2010 Honda CR-V had collided with a train at the crossing. The female operator stated she did not hear the train and the engineer stated he didn't see the vehicle until it was too late.
Although no serious injuries were evident, the adult female and a 2-year-old child were transported to the hospital as a precaution.
Also assisting on scene were Artemus Fire Department, KCSO Deputy Abner, Knox County Emergency Management Director Sean Smith, and Knox EMS.
A healthy Knox County requires great community news.
