Voter lines heavy in Knox

Voter turnout in Knox County is so heavy the board of elections has placed three more voting machines into operation. Early reports from Girdler indicated approximately 125 people were in line mid-morning. Wait times allegedly approached one hour for certain precincts voting at Lynn Camp High School.  To reduce wait times normally associated with a higher voter turnout, additional machines were placed into service at the East Corbin, Boone Heights, and North Corbin precincts. Polls will remain open until 6:00 PM, or until the last person in line at 6PM has voted.
