On Friday, July 18, the Knox County Town and Country Homemakers held their first organizational meeting for the upcoming new year. Members of the executive committee met to discuss plans for expanding and revitalizing this long standing club, which was originally organized in 1961. Executive officers discussed a myriad of topics, including an adoption of official club colors, emblem, motto, flag and dress code for officers.
The club’s year-long fundraising projects were discussed and voted on, along with the selection of charities on the local, state, national and international levels supported by KCTCH. The Town and Country Homemakers Club’s 50+ years celebration, as well as the installation of the new officers, will take place at a ceremonial dinner on Aug. 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the Knox County Extension Office. Current members are asked to invite one future member, along their significant other, to this very important meeting.
