The Knox Central High School volleyball team triumphed over the Lynn Camp High School team in all three matches in the KCHS gymnasium Monday night. The score for the first match was 25 to 7, the second match score was 26 to 24, and the score for the final match was 25 to 21.

KCHS Head Coach, Barb Gregory, shared who the key players were for each match, “In all three matches the key player for serving was Katie Harris. She had the most serves for the whole game. She completed twenty four serves and had at least nine aces in there.” Coach Gregory was pleasantly surprised with the way one of her freshman stepped it up, “ I think our setter Kendall came a long way tonight. I mean she kept herself on the floor, kept herself composed, and got the set to the girls to be able to kill the ball.”

Chris Gibson, KCHS Assistant Coach, explained the number one reason why the Lady Panthers were so successful, “They had a lot of heart. They didn’t let a lot of balls hit that they normally would have. I was impressed to see a lot more determination than I did in our previous match.”

KCHS coaches know that there are still several things they need to work on. Coach Gregory described a few of these, “I think we have to learn to place the ball away from the power hitters. We were setting Lynn Camp’s number fifteen up completely.”

Next Monday August 31 The Knox Central High School volleyball team will be traveling to Middlesboro for a game at 5:30 p.m.
