Sheriff's department busts mobile meth lab

pdf_methA Friday traffic stop led to the arrest of two people on meth charges.

Sheriff John Pickard and Deputy Keith Liford made a traffic stop on a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix owned by Knox County Resident Jeff Brown and driven by Knox County resident Marsha Vaughn on Ky 223.

Upon the traffic stop of the vehicle Officers located two active Meth Labs along with 6 grams of finished Methamphetamine and several precursors.

Officers were assisted on the scene by Deputy Claude Hudson and Detective Bobby Oneil from the Two Rivers Drug Task Force.


Both subjects were charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and lodged in the Knox County Jail.

 

Fire victim in 'serious' condition

fire_for_storyAn Artemus man is listed in serious but stable condition after suffering injuries in a Thursday morning apartment fire.

Keith Bays was carried from his burning apartment by a neighbor who heard the fire alarm and went to see what was happening. "I heard the alarm and came around to his apartment," said David Marcum, who was spending the night with his mother-in-law Mary Brown. Brown, who went with Marcum to find out where the alarm was coming from, said she knew they had to do something when they saw that Bays' first-story apartment was on fire.
