A routine traffic stop around 12:30 a.m. Monday led to the arrest of two Tennessee residents and the confiscation of cash and drug paraphernalia.

A routine traffic stop around 12:30 a.m. Monday led to the arrest of two Tennessee residents and the confiscation of cash and drug paraphernalia.

KSP Trooper Jason Partin smelled a strong order of marijuana coming from the vehicle when he pulled over a 2014 Dodge Charger for speeding on U.S. 25E in the Bailey Switch community. Tpr. Partin was joined by KSP CVE Canine Officer Landry Collet, Tpr. Kelly Farris and Knox County Deputy Drew Wilson. After a search of the vehicle, the officers confiscated over a pound of marijuana wrapped in plastic underneath the spare tire of the trunk. Drug paraphernalia items, along with $600 in cash, were also seized.
