Knox man facing meth charges

A Knox County man was arrested Thursday on meth charges.

According to Sheriff John Pickard, deputies Brian Hensley and Tommy Houston were dispatched Thursday to a residence on Hughes Branch Road in reference to a possible meth lab.   Continue reading

State to spend $17.5 million on Knox road projects

More than $17.5 million has been allocated for several Knox County road projects under the state’s Biennial Road Plan. The plan was worked out and approved by the Kentucky Legislature Tuesday.

Several Knox County roads will get attention under the plan.

Knox Central looking for run support

The Knox Central Panthers have been patiently waiting for their hitting to come alive and it did just that over the weekend as they defeated Bryan Station 11-0.
“We finally got some run support against Bryan Station,” Knox Central coach Brandon Hillard said. “Our bats came alive and it was a great win. Our kids had fun.”
The Panthers are now 7-8 on the season with a staff ERA of 2.25. Hillard has been more than impressed with his team’s efforts on the mound.  Continue reading

Eight charged in Monday morning drug raid

Eight suspects were arrested in an early morning drug raid Monday in Knox County.

According to Knox Sheriff John Pickard, the raids stemmed from ongoing investigations in illegal drug activity across Knox County.

Pickard said Monday’s arrests were the results of undercover buys during the investigation.
